Revision breast surgery, or breast implant revision, typically involves replacing or removing your breast implants and doing any necessary work to reshape or lift breast tissue that may have changed over time. Sometimes, supportive mesh, or an “internal bra,” is placed in patients who have had long-standing implants and now have dropping of the implant and breast position. The internal bra serves as a supportive structure to help suspend the implant and breast tissue in a more youthful position on the chest wall. Mesh can also be used in revision breast surgery where no implant is being placed.
Revision breast surgery is not a standardized procedure and needs to be tailored specifically to each patient. Dr. Molina has experience with revision breast surgery and takes pride in safely delivering the improvement that patients desire.
